The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) was established by an Act of Parliament known as the Police Services Act, Chapter 15:01 of the Laws of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. The Services is headed by the Commissioner of Police who is appointed by the Police Services Commission. The Commissioner is empowered under the Police Service Regulations (2007) to issues administrative order called Service Standing Orders for the general control, direction and information of the service.
Additionally, the Motto of the TTPS is to protect and serve with P.R.I.D.E.
