Job Description
<div>The Health, Safety and Environment Assistant is responsible for carrying out Health, Safety and Environment</div><div>activities on all NIDCOs sites in order to achieve zero accidents/incidents.</div>
Key and Critical Responsibilities
<div> Performs Accident and Incident investigations and analyses and makes recommendations to prevent</div><div>re-occurrence.</div><div> Leads the corrective action programme and reports progress to Health, Safety and Environment Officer</div><div> Supports the Emergency Response Contingency Plan with members of the Emergency Response Team</div><div>and be ready to implement the plan, if needed.</div><div> Take charge of the Emergency Response Team in the event of an emergency.</div><div> Assist in training of employees in techniques, practices, tools usage, and training of employees to</div><div>perform Job Safety Analysis (JSAs) and periodic review of the JSA logs.</div><div> Act as liaison with external stakeholders on HSE issues.</div><div> Performs special assignments and other related duties required.</div>
Key Competencies
<div> Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act of Trinidad and Tobago</div><div> Knowledge of Performance Management monitoring and reporting.</div><div> Excellent written and communication (verbal and written) skills.</div><div> Demonstrated level of tact and diplomacy in addressing complex matters.</div><div> Excellent time management skills, plans, and work programs.</div><div> Sound knowledge of Geographic Information System Mapping Technology (GIS).</div><div> Ability to work on own initiative with limited supervision</div><div> Ability to work with all levels of staff</div>
