Job Description
<div><span style="letter-spacing: 0.4px;">The Systems Technician is responsible for the deployment, configuration, operation, and ongoing support of enterprise systems, infrastructure, and digital platforms. The role contributes to continuous improvement and innovation by researching emerging technologies and recommending solutions that enhance system performance, security, and reliability. The Systems Technician ensures that all hardware, software, operating systems, and supporting processes align with organizational standards, cybersecurity best practices, and business objectives.</span></div><div><br></div>
Key and Critical Responsibilities
<ul><li>Monitors, coordinates, and reports on the progress and performance of ICT initiatives and digital services.</li><li>Installs, configures, maintains, and troubleshoots computer systems, software applications, networks, communication platforms, and website-related services. </li><li>Supports the administration, maintenance, and content updates of the organizations website, ensuring availability, functionality, and alignment with corporate standards. </li><li>Identifies emerging technologies, digital trends, and process efficiencies, and recommends innovative solutions to improve organizational performance and service delivery. </li><li>Supervises and liaises with ICT contractors, vendors, and service providers to ensure timely and effective delivery of services. </li><li>Provides responsive technical support and guidance to staff on network, hardware, software, and digital collaboration tools. </li><li>Ensures compliance with organizational ICT policies, governmental regulations, cybersecurity requirements, and relevant international industry standards. </li><li>Prepares technical reports, status updates, and presentations for the ICT Administrator and senior management. </li><li>Performs other related duties as required to support the effective operation and continuous improvement of ICT and digital services. </li></ul>
Key Competencies
<b><u>Qualifications and Experience: </u></b><ul><li>Minimum of three (3) years experience in the area of ICT, including the operation and maintenance of ICT systems. </li><li>Training as evidenced by the possession of a recognized Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer </li><li>Information Systems, Information Systems Management, Computer Engineering or a related area. </li><li>Minimum of three (3) years experience in a Windows Server 2019 or higher Environment. </li><li>Experience with major application and server virtualization initiatives. </li><li>Experience with large scale server/data centre. </li><li>Experience with server sizing / capacity planning. </li><li>Experience with data center / power management IT concepts is desirable.</li></ul><div><br></div><div><b><u>Knowledge: </u></b></div><ul><li>Knowledge of defined components of IT infrastructure. </li><li>Knowledge of the tools and techniques required for the management and control of ICT within the organisation. </li></ul><div><br></div><div><b><u>Skills: </u></b></div><ul><li>Ability to think creatively and to implement technology solutions. </li><li>Ability to manage IT infrastructure </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. </li><li>Ability to promote teamwork and manage conflict. </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues. </li><li>Ability to interact positively with internal and external stakeholders. </li></ul><div><br></div><div> </div>
