Job Description
The incumbent will be expected to provide support to the Director, Policy, Research and Planning in formulating policies and programmes with respect to the mandate of the Ministry of Sport and Community Development.
Key and Critical Responsibilities
Assists in reviewing, researching and conducting work/studies on National issues which are part of the remit of the Ministry. for example;&nbsp;<div> Assists in the design, development and monitoring of policies relevant to the work of the Ministry.</div><div> Reviews, evaluates and makes recommendations on these issues in the Ministry.</div><div> Collects and analyzes data from published and unpublished sources in addressing these national issues.</div><div> Assists in planning and managing policies fora such as workshops, consultations and focus groups to facilitate a participatory approach to policy planning.</div><div> Identifies national issues in accordance with the Ministrys mandate that require analysis and policy direction to ensure that the lives of citizens are impacted upon.</div><div> Prepares Cabinet Notes as required.</div><div><br></div>

<b>Knowledge:</b><div><span style="letter-spacing: 0.4px;"> Knowledge of the principles, techniques and methodologies of social science research.</span></div><div> Knowledge of the principles and practice of public policy planning and public management.</div><div> Knowledge of public sector procurement and financial management issues.</div><div><span style="letter-spacing: 0.4px;"><br></span></div><div><span style="letter-spacing: 0.4px;"><b>Skills and Abilities:</b></span></div><div><span style="letter-spacing: 0.4px;"> Sound writing and good interpersonal communication skills.</span></div><div> Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and internet usage.</div><div><br></div>
