<p><b>JOB SUMMARY:</b></p><p>The incumbent is required to design, coordinate, and implement initiatives that stimulate sustainable economic growth within the municipality.&nbsp; The role involves engaging with&nbsp; stakeholders - including businesses, community groups, government agencies, and investors to identify opportunities, attract investment, and support the development of small and medium enterprises.&nbsp; The LEDO conducts research on local economic conditions, prepares development strategies, and monitors projects to ensure alignment with national policies and community needs.&nbsp; A key function is fostering entrepreneurship, job creation, and skills development through targeted programs, partnerships, and resource mobilization.&nbsp; The LEDO also advises municipal leadership on policies to enhance competitiveness, improve livelihoods, and promote inclusive growth.</p>
Key and Critical Responsibilities
<p><b>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</b></p><ul><li>Promote LED initiatives in collaboration with stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector actors, and community-based organizations.</li><li>Facilitate the implementation of municipal LED strategies, ensuring alignment with national development policies and plans.</li><li>Identify, design, and manage projects that stimulate local economic growth, create employment, and strengthen local enterprises.</li><li>Mobilize resources through partnerships, grant applications, and other funding mechanisms to support LED programs.</li><li>Monitor and evaluate LED projects to ensure effectiveness, sustainability, and measurable impact on the community.</li><li>Collect and analyze local economic data to inform evidence-based decision-making.</li><li>Support capacity building for local entrepreneurs, cooperatives, and SMEs through training, mentorship, and networking opportunities.</li><li>Serve as a liaison between the municipal corporation, central government, and other stakeholders on LED matters.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p>
