Job Description
<span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family: " times="" new="" roman",serif;mso-fareast-font-family:"times="" roman";mso-ansi-language:="" en-us;mso-fareast-language:en-us;mso-bidi-language:ar-sa"="">The Civil Engineering Technician II will supervise, monitor and control construction and maintenance projects in the various communities in accordance with the industrys specified guidelines and regulations to meet Clients requirements.&nbsp;&nbsp;</span>
Key and Critical Responsibilities
<ul><li>Develops Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and WBS Dictionary.</li><li>Develops Scopes of Works and detailed Costs Estimates for all projects.</li><li>Prepares Work Plans on a weekly basis.</li><li>Conducts site inspections on a regular basis, and prepares daily reports for each site.</li><li>Liaises with Contracts Administration staff to arrange site visits with Contractors, providing instructions on job safety and other relevant procedures.</li><li>Meets and treats with clients' needs on an on-going basis.</li><li>Troubleshoots day to day problems in collaboration with Supervisor.</li><li>Supervises contractors on projects assigned, advising on quality issues and progress of work.</li><li>Instructs and assists Civil Engineering Technicians I assigned to projects with technical trouble-shooting.</li><li>Submits information on contractors' performances highlighting relevant strengths and weaknesses.</li><li>Submits reports to Arca Project Supervisor as instructed.</li><li>Prepares reports on emergency or merit contracts for Supervisor's attention.</li><li>Ensures work permits are obtained for construction projects.</li><li>Prepares close-out documentation for projects, ensuring adherence to industry's standards and agreements. and verification of scope deliverables.</li><li>Ensures compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Regulations.</li><li>Performs any other duties as may be required to successfully achieve the job functions.</li></ul>
Key Competencies
<p class="MsoNormal"><b><u><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:11.0pt">Qualifications and Experience:</span></u></b></p><ul><li><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 11pt;">Diploma in Civil / Construction Engineering together with a minimum of three (3) years relevant working experience or an equivalent combination of skills and experience.</span></li><li><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:11.0pt">An unencumbered Drivers Permit.</span></li><li><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 11pt;">30-hour Occupational Safety and Health in the Construction sector.</span></li></ul><p class="MsoNormal"><b><u><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:11.0pt"><br></span></u></b></p><p class="MsoNormal"><b style="letter-spacing: 0.4px;"><u><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:11.0pt">Knowledge:</span></u></b></p><ul><li><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 11pt;">Knowledge of AutoCAD</span></li><li><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:11.0pt">Knowledge of Microsoft Project and Excel.</span></li><li><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:11.0pt">Knowledge of Industry Specifications and Standards.</span></li><li><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:11.0pt">Knowledge of Occupational Safety &amp; Health Regulations for the Construction sector.</span></li><li><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:11.0pt">Knowledge of Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) from PMI.</span></li><li><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 11pt;">Knowledge of the use of leveling instruments in setting out works.</span></li></ul>
