Job Description
The assistant manager assists with the preparation, review and monitoring of accounting information, financial reports, reconciliations, and statutory requirements and other assigned financial activities, applying sound knowledge of accounting principles and International Accounting Standards. The incumbent works with minimal supervision within established policies, procedures and delegated authority, referring significant or non-routine matters to the Accounting & Finance Manager. 
Key and Critical Responsibilities
Process and review payments to suppliers based on invoices approves for payment.<div> Update and monitor bank and cash reports daily.</div><div> Maintain petty cash and complete cash reconciliations at month-end.</div><div> Compute and complete VAT Returns to ensure timely submission and payment.</div><div> Prepare payments to relevant statutory authorities and ensure payments are made on ot before required dates.</div><div> Maintain proper ledgers, journals, accounts and financial records to ensure accurate financial information is available.&nbsp;</div><div> Create and maintain an up-to-date supplier database.</div><div> Liaise with internal and external suppliers regarding payment matters.</div><div> Follow up on uncleared cheques and maintain appropriate records of actions taken.</div><div> Liaise with banks to query and confirm direct deposits and other banking matters.</div><div> Assist with monitoring cash flow and provide relevant information to the Accounting and Finance Manager.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div><br></div>
Key Competencies
Sound knowledge of Finance and Accounting principles and practices.<div> Working knowledge of International Accounting Standards/IFRS.</div><div> Knowledge of statutory requirements and relevant legislation, particularly as it relates to state agencies.</div><div> Ability to prepare, review and reconcile accounting records and financial information.</div><div><br></div>
