Job Description

Performs mechanical maintenance and repairs to equipment such as forklifts, compressors, manlifts, trucks, trucks, pneumatic tools, productions machines and other industrial machinery.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Key and Critical Responsibilities

Observes equipment in operation to identify, locate and diagnose equipment faults and defects.&nbsp;Troubleshoots and diagnose cause(s) of mechanical failures to equipment<o:p></o:p>Performs mechanical maintenance and repairs to correct faults and prevent potential failuresUndertakes routine and periodic preventative mechanical maintenance actions such as equipment condition, inspection, engine overhauls, lubrication, tightening, and cleaning of equipment components and other maintenance measures required to ensure that equipment is kept in a serviceable conditionPerforms and repairs and/or replacement of defective parts as well as equipment testing and start up to verify repair and maintenance worksPerforms equipment modifications, installs specialized functional and structural parts and devices as required.Attends to equipment breakdowns and restores same to functional condition;&nbsp;Installs special functional and structural parts and devices.Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metal working tools to make and repair parts.

Key Competency

Craftsman's Certificate in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized Technical Institution<o:p></o:p>Alternatively, evidence of minimum of 5 years knowledge and experience performing mechanical maintenance and repairs to industrial equipment.
