Job Description
<p><span style="font-family: " times="" new="" roman";"=""></span><span style="font-family: " times="" new="" roman";"="" roman",="" serif;="" font-size:="" 12pt;="" text-align:="" justify;="" letter-spacing:="" 0.4px;"="">The incumbent will be required to assist in the administration, direction and control of the operation of the Authority and to plan, coordinate and develop the operations of the Authorities hospital/facility functions in collaboration with the hospital and facility administration in the Region, so as to ensure the achievement of established objectives.</span><br></p><span style="font-family: " times="" new="" roman";"=""> </span><p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:" times="" new="" roman",serif"=""><span style="font-family: " times="" new="" roman";"="">He/She will also play a critical role in helping to shape and guide the future growth and development of the SWRHA and all institutions under its purview. He/She will contribute as a member of the Executive Management Team in the Authoritys Transformation Thrust. Key and Critical Responsibilities
<p><span style="font-family: " times="" new="" roman";"=""></span><font face="Times New Roman"><span style="font-family: " times="" new="" roman";"="">Responsible for formulating and ensuring the implementation of operating strategies which meet the expectations of quality health care and are aligned to the Authority's strategic objectives.&nbsp;</span><br></font></p><p><font face="Times New Roman"><span style="font-family: " times="" new="" roman";"="">Contributes as a member of the senior management team in the Authority's transformation thrust.</span></font></p><p><font face="Times New Roman"><span style="font-family: " times="" new="" roman";"="">Provides strong leadership to the teams of professionals with responsibility for providing highly efficient services in support of those delivering direct patient care at the Authority's health institutions/facilities.</span></font></p><p><font face="Times New Roman"><span style="font-family: " times="" new="" roman";"="">Assists the Chief Executive Officer in the administration, direction and control of the daily operations of the Authority and in the establishment of corporate objectives, to ensure that the established work targets are achieved.&nbsp;</span></font></p><p><font face="Times New Roman"><span style="font-family: " times="" new="" roman";"="">Provides leadership and guidance in operational programme planning and implementation, budgetary utilization and impact analysis and productivity reporting.</span></font></p><p><font face="Times New Roman"><span style="font-family: " times="" new="" roman";"="">Develops, recommends and oversees the implementation of operational policies and procedures consistent with the overall philosophy and strategic objectives of the SWRHA.</span></font></p><p><font face="Times New Roman"><span style="font-family: " times="" new="" roman";"="">Develops, in collaboration with the Chief Executive Officer an annual operating plan that supports the organizations long term Operations strategy.</span></font></p><p><font face="Times New Roman"><span style="font-family: " times="" new="" roman";"="">Develops and maintains organisational systems for the effective performance and smooth delivery of health operations and technical support services.</span></font></p><p><font face="Times New Roman"><span style="font-family: " times="" new="" roman";"="">Create synergy among the Operations Department, other Departments of the Authority including medical and nursing departments to resolve operational issues and ensure continuous delivery of quality health care services.</span></font></p><p><font face="Times New Roman"><span style="font-family: " times="" new="" roman";"="">Establish partnership with private and public sector organizations.</span></font></p><p><font face="Times New Roman"><span style="font-family: " times="" new="" roman";"="">Keeps the Chief Executive Officer fully informed in a timely manner on the operations of the organization.&nbsp;</span></font></p><p><font face="Times New Roman"><span style="font-family: " times="" new="" roman";"="">Ensures proper communications, resolution of issues and project development throughout the organization.</span></font></p><p><font face="Times New Roman"><span style="font-family: " times="" new="" roman";"="">Fosters organizational culture that promotes ethical practices, customer service to maintain a positive and ethical work climate that is conducive to attracting, retaining and motivating a diverse group of top-quality employees at all levels.</span></font></p><p><font face="Times New Roman"><span style="font-family: " times="" new="" roman";"="">Supervise and monitor staff performance under purview.</span></font></p><p><font face="Times New Roman"><span style="font-family: " times="" new="" roman";"="">Assists in the preparation of budgets.</span></font></p><p><font face="Times New Roman"><span style="font-family: " times="" new="" roman";"="">Perform other functions related to the office of the Chief Operations Officer or as may be requested by the Chief Executive Officer or the Board.</span></font></p><p><font face="Times New Roman"><span style="font-family: " times="" new="" roman";"="">Ability to perform duties according to assigned rosters or plans that can be formulated in times of authorized service exigencies</span><span style="font-family: " times="" new="" roman";"="">.</span></font></p><p><font face="Times New Roman"><span style="font-family: " times="" new="" roman";"="">Ability to use the relevant computer applications related to job functions.</span></font></p><div><br></div>
Key Competencies
<p><span style="font-family: " times="" new="" roman";"="">A Postgraduate Degree from an Accredited Institution in Hospital Administration, Health Service Administration, Project Management, Business Administration or an equivalent accreditation</span></p><p><span style="font-family: " times="" new="" roman";"="">At least ten (10) years post qualification experience in a similar or related job function, five (5) of which should be at middle or senior management level.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: " times="" new="" roman";"="">Any equivalent combination of qualifications, training and experience.</span></p><div><br></div>
