Job Description
This individual is responsible for executing all support activities required in the delivery of new and existing Police Academy Courses and Programmes from Basic Training to Executive Development. These activities include Research, Curriculum Design and Evaluation, Monitoring and Evaluation of courses and programmes, Quality Assurance and management Accreditation and Examination.
Key and Critical Responsibilities
Manages the operations of the Research, Curriculum, Quality Assurance and Accreditation Unit.&nbsp;&nbsp;<div> Creates standard research and development practices to enhance Monitoring and Evaluation practices and Operations in the Police Academy.</div><div> Conducts research in the best practices for the design and development of Curriculum in the Police Academy.</div><div> Develop templates for the creation of a single visual appearance of the Police Academy training and education products.</div><div> Reviews, develops and implement programmes for the Police Academy.</div><div> Coordinates the development and review of policies and procedures for the Police Academy.</div><div> Oversees the development of a Quality Management System for the Police Academy with the Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago.</div><div> Reviews reports compiled from research projects undertaken to facilitate any necessary follow up actions.&nbsp;</div><div> Oversees the activities relating to the conduct of examinations at the Police Academy from recruitment to Advanced Training.</div><div> Provides reports to the Executive of the Police to support improvements in Programme delivery.</div><div> Provide reports as required to the Executive of the Police Academy and the TTPS to facilitate decision making and ways forward.</div><div> Acts as the principle operational liaison for other research organizations, funding agencies and regulatory bodies.&nbsp;</div><div> Takes on whatever other responsibilities that may arise from time to time as required.</div><div><b><u>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</u></b></div><div><b style=""> </b>Knowledge of research theories and methodologies.</div><div> Knowledge of techniques used in monitoring and evaluation.</div><div> Knowledge of Regulatory Bodies within the education system; their approaches; main functions and operations.</div><div> Knowledge of instructional Design Principles and Student Learning Theories.</div><div> Knowledge of Quality Management Systems.</div><div> Excellent Communication and presentation skills.</div><div> Excellent problem solving skills.</div><div> Verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.</div><div> Networking skills and abilities.</div><div> Strong leadership and team building skills.</div><div> Analyze situations accurately and take appropriate action.</div><div> Plan and present training and / or give presentations to individuals and groups.</div><div><b><u>MINIMUM QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:</u></b></div><div><b style=""> </b>Masters Degree in Education of study OR the equivalent combination of education and experience.&nbsp;</div><div> Ten (10) years proven experience in Curriculum Development.</div><div> Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe products and related digital imagery software.&nbsp;</div><div><b><u><br></u></b></div>
