Job Description
<ul><li><span style="text-indent: 0in; letter-spacing: 0.4px;">To manage Risk Management strategy, structure and processes within the Bank.</span></li><li>To establish standards and implement procedures to ensure that the compliance programs throughout the organization are effective and efficient in identifying, preventing, detecting and correcting non compliance with applicable rules and regulations.</li><li>To provide reasonable assurance to the Chief Executive Officer and the Board of Directors that there are effective and efficient policies and procedures in place, well understood and respected by all employees, and that the company is complying with all regulatory requirements.</li><li>To inform the Chief Executive Officer about important issues and material violations so as to facilitate the timely implementation of corrective measures.</li></ul>
Key and Critical Responsibilities
<p class="DefaultText">The Corporate Manager Risk and Compliance responsibilities will include but is not limited to the following:</p><ol><li><span style="text-indent: -0.25in; letter-spacing: 0.4px; font-family: Symbol;"><span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-alternates: normal; font-size-adjust: none; font-kerning: auto; font-optical-sizing: auto; font-feature-settings: normal; font-variation-settings: normal; font-variant-position: normal; font-variant-emoji: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: " times="" new="" roman";"="">&nbsp;</span></span><span style="text-indent: -0.25in; letter-spacing: 0.4px;">Maintaining current knowledge of all applicable laws and regulations while keeping abreast of recent changes.</span><span style="text-indent: -0.25in; letter-spacing: 0.4px;">&nbsp;</span></li><li>Developing the annual compliance work plan that reflects the Banks highest risk elements that will be monitored by the compliance function as determined by conducting a mandatory annual risk assessment using an enterprise wide approach.</li><li><span style="text-indent: -0.25in; letter-spacing: 0.4px;">Providing guidance to the Chief Executive Officer, Senior Management and employees on compliance.</span></li><li>Overseeing and monitoring the implementation of the compliance program.</li><li>Developing policies and programs that encourage managers and employees to report suspected fraud and other improprieties without fear of retaliation.</li><li><span style="font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-alternates: normal; font-size-adjust: none; font-kerning: auto; font-optical-sizing: auto; font-feature-settings: normal; font-variation-settings: normal; font-variant-position: normal; font-variant-emoji: normal; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 7pt; line-height: normal; font-family: " times="" new="" roman";"="">&nbsp;</span><span style="text-indent: -0.25in; letter-spacing: 0.4px;">Reporting on a regular basis on the progress of implementation, and assisting these components in establishing methods to improve efficiency and quality of services, and to reduce the vulnerability to fraud, abuse and waste.</span></li><li>Developing, coordinating, and participating in a multifaceted educational and training program that focuses on the elements of the compliance program, and seeks to ensure that all appropriate employees and management are knowledgeable of, and comply with, pertinent laws and requirements of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.</li><li>Developing materials at an institutional level for distribution to all employees to enhance awareness of compliance activities, including posters.</li><li>Coordinating internal compliance review and monitoring activities, including periodic reviews of department and applicable policies.</li><li>Maintaining awareness of compliance issues and in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Executive Officer respond to administrative inquires related to compliance issues or audits.</li><li>Heads of Risk council of the Bank and ensure the Councils Terms of Reference is satisfied.</li></ol>
Key Competency
<p style="margin-left: 0.5in; text-indent: -0.25in;">1. First degree in Finance or Business Management.</p><p style="margin-left: 0.5in; text-indent: -0.25in;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.4px; text-indent: -0.25in;">2. A Masters Degree in Finance or Business Administration and certification in Risk Management Assurance will be an asset.</span></p><p style="margin-left: 0.5in; text-indent: -0.25in;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.4px; text-indent: -0.25in;">3.
