Job Description
The incumbent will be required to perform complex analytical statistical studies and evaluations of data collected over numerous fields related to the various areas that fall under the purview and mandate of the Ministry of Defence.
Key and Critical Responsibilities
<ul><li>Plans surveys and special studies and develops questionnaires and other tools to obtain information required by the Ministry of Defence.</li><li>Determines appropriate data sources and their reliability and makes recommendations on improving existing sampling techniques and methods.</li><li>Organizes, directs and assists in collating and compiling data collected.</li><li>Compiles and presents data in appropriate formats in accordance with accepted statistical techniques.</li><li>Designs and presents tables, graphs and charts.&nbsp;</li><li>Prepares research reports for the purposes of interpreting the statistics produced by the Divisions/Agencies of the Ministry and evaluating the quality of data.</li><li>Serves on technical teams/committees set up by the Ministry.</li><li>Uses various techniques in the analysis of data collected for the purposes of evaluating the quality of data and for making projections.</li><li>Writes Reports describing sources of data and limitations of data for particular uses.</li><li>Directs and provides guidance to other officers with regards to compiling and presenting statistical data.</li></ul>
