Job Description

The incumbent will be responsible for providing Occupational Health and Safety support for the organization, under the supervision and direction of senior personnel. Key responsibilities include ensuring and maintaining workplace safety in accordance with applicable Health and Safety Regulations.

Key and Critical Responsibilities

<ul><li>Conducts and document inspections of equipment, working environment and premises to ensure compliance with Health and Safety Regulations.</li><li>Undertakes Safety Audits, conduct Risk Assessments and Gap Analysis.</li><li>Develop required Health and Safety documentation, arrangement and procedures; policies, guidelines, emergency response plan, standard operation procedures etc.&nbsp;</li><li>Perform accident investigations, reporting and compiling&nbsp; statistics.&nbsp;</li><li>Maintains Health and Safety records in accordance with legal requirements.</li><li>Conduct site visits to projects and work gangs.</li><li>Undertake EMA duties as required.</li><li>Performs other related duties.</li></ul>

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;KNOWLEDEGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES&nbsp; &nbsp; <ul><li>Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing.</li><li>Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.</li><li>Ability to operate in a fast paced, performance driven environment.</li><li>Exercises considerable independence within the framework of established policies and procedures. </li><li>Ability to operate as part of a team. </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues. </li><li>The ability to conduct training programmes will be an asset. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE </li><li>Training as evidenced by the possession of a BSc in Occupational Health and Safety or relevant studies. </li><li>Experience in the local government environment, with knowledge in safety practices in the service delivery will be an asset. </li><li>A minimum of five (3) years professional experience in the field of Occupational Health and Safety.
