Job Description
The incumbent is required to provide technical services in the management, operations and maintenance&nbsp;<span style="letter-spacing: 0.4px;">of the computer centre hardware, software, systems and related infrastructure of a Ministry/Department.&nbsp;</span><span style="letter-spacing: 0.4px;">Duties include: provision of assistance with the operations and support of computer hardware, operating&nbsp;</span><span style="letter-spacing: 0.4px;">system software and related support applications; support for email, domain management, and related&nbsp;</span><span style="letter-spacing: 0.4px;">systems; provision of support and maintenance for PCs, laptops and related equipment; and supervision of&nbsp;</span><span style="letter-spacing: 0.4px;">other ICT technical and support staff.&nbsp;</span>
Key and Critical Responsibilities
Manages the installation, testing, maintenance, and security of the Ministrys/Departments IT infrastructure, ensuring systems operate efficiently and securely while maintaining accurate records. Investigates and resolves minor security incidents, monitors service delivery metrics, supports backups, and contributes to IT infrastructure projects, including risk management and resource allocation. Also provides user training, assists with problem resolution, and stays updated on IT infrastructure developments to enhance system performance.

<p>Possesses strong knowledge of IT infrastructure components, project management tools, and ICT management principles within an organisation. Skilled in supervising technical teams, implementing innovative technology solutions, and managing IT infrastructure projects. Demonstrates effective communication, teamwork, conflict management, and the ability to build positive relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and the public.</p><p><b><i><u>MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: </u></i></b></p><ul><li>Minimum of three (3) years' experience in the area of ICT, including at least eighteen (18) months' experience in the operation and maintenance of ICT systems. </li><li>Training as evidenced by the possession of a recognised Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems Management, Computer Engineering or a related area.</li></ul>
