Job Description
The Audit Technician I is required to provide sub-professional auditing work of varied complexity.
Key and Critical Responsibilities
Performs first check of expenditure vouchers to verify arithmetical accuracy, correct application of prescribed rates of payments, proper descriptions of expenditure classification, and compliance with financial regulations regarding preparation of vouchers. <div> Checks vouchers with check lists and verifies that check lists are within the limits of releases. </div><div> Examines cash books to determine accuracy of postings of receipts from controlled revenue receipt forms. </div><div> Checks register for the control of revenue receipts forms, licenses, badges and related matters. </div><div> Sorts and files advices from other departments on financial matters. </div><div> Checks simple statements such as arrears of revenue and bank reconciliation statements. </div><div> Assists in checking personal emoluments records and kalamazoo records.</div><div>Assist with reports relating to filed and other completed audit engagements.</div><div>Maintain work papers for all field and other audit engagements.</div><div><span style="letter-spacing: 0.4px;">Performs any related tasks as required.</span></div><div><br></div>

<p><b>KNOWLEDGE:</b></p><p> Some knowledge of accounting and auditing principles and methods and their application to governmental accounting systems. </p><p> Some knowledge of Financial Regulations and Instructions. </p><p> Some knowledge of office procedures and standard office machines and equipment.</p><p>Some Knowledge of relevant Public Service rules, regulations, instructions and procurement.</p><p><b>SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</b></p><p>Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite&nbsp;</p><p>Skill in the use of personal computers.</p><p> Ability to perform simple arithmetical computations quickly and accurately. </p><p> Ability to learn financial regulations and recognize the circumstances requiring their application. </p><p> Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with other employees. </p><p><b>MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:</b></p><p>Experience in Auditing or Accounting work and training as evidenced by a General Certificate of Education/Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate comprising ordinary level passes in five (5) subjects three of which must be English Language, Mathematics and Principles of Accounts or; any equivalent combination of experience and training.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p> </p><p><br></p>
