Job Description
The Driver/Messenger provides services as both a Driver and Messenger to the assigned Division/Department. This includes delivering and receiving documents, conducting business on behalf of the Corporation as required and driving officials to and from appointments. The person must possess a valid Drivers permit and be able to work efficiently in order to meet deadlines.
Key and Critical Responsibilities
Delivers official documents and payments to other departments within the Corporation, government agencies, banks, post offices and other institutions as required. Collects documents and payments from other departments within the Corporation, government agencies, banks, post offices and other institutions. <div> Conducts business/runs errands on behalf of the Corporation as directed. </div><div> Drives the Head of Division and other staff to and from appointments during the workday, safely and in a timely manner. </div><div> Picks up or waits for employees as required. </div><div> Performs routine checks on the assigned vehicle/s to ensure road-worthiness and informs the appropriate personnel if defects are found. </div><div> Maintains a accurate record of daily visits as required. </div><div> Maintains records of vehicles expenses as required. </div><div> Performs any other related and incidental duties as may be assigned by the Head of department or designate. </div><div><br></div><div> </div>
Key Competencies
<b>MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE: </b><div> </div><div> Evidence of having attended a secondary school for a minimum of three (3) years </div><div> Possession of a Valid Trinidad and Tobago Drivers permit with endorsement for Light Motor Vehicles </div><div> Defensive Driving Certificate (mandatory or would be and asset) </div><div> Possession of a Police Certificate of Good Character </div><div> Familiar with road networks and traffic regulations in Trinidad and Tobago, particularly in the Port of Spain, San Fernando, Chaguanas, Arima, Point Fortin and Sangre Grande areas. </div><div> Minimum of Five (5) years driving experience. </div><div> Evidence of safe driving habits.</div><div><br></div><div> </div><div><b>REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: </b></div><div> Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees and members of the public. </div><div> Ability to operate standard office equipment. </div><div> Ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance. </div><div> Knowledge of Trinidad and Tobago road network and locations of Government Ministries, Department and other agencies. </div><div>Any combination of experience and academic qualifications from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. </div><div><br></div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div>
