Job Description
This incumbent will provide investigative function for the Registrar General. This will include inspection and field visits to companies, firms, non-profit organizations and non-governmental organizations to ascertain that the beneficial ownership information on the record of the Companies Registry is consistent with that on the records of the aforementioned entities.
Key and Critical Responsibilities
- Directs, plans and implements inspection activities in accordance with the legislative framework and policies as it pertains to beneficial ownership. <div>- Leads and manages the Investigation Unit including developing and implementing the annual programme and budget. </div><div>- Coordinates closely across divisions, in particular with the Compliance Unit and other relevant Legal and technical staff, to improve the effectiveness of the inspection process. </div><div>- Provide expert advice and guidance to staff in relation to inspection activities. </div><div>- Brief and submit reports on the conduct of inspection activities to the Registrar General. </div><div>- Develop and implement new policies and structural improvements on inspection activities to improve efficiency and effectiveness. </div><div>- Oversee and manage the development and implementation of Inspectorate related training programmes and activities at the Office of the Registrar General. </div><div>- Contribute to the senior leadership team, in the formulation of recommendations to the Registrar General and organization wide policy issues. </div><div>- Manage the staff of the Division to ensure: </div><div>~ The division is correctly staffed and able to complete the planned programme of work; </div><div>~ appropriate direction and guidance; </div><div>~ promoting a professional work environment for all Inspectorate staff; </div><div>~ necessary skills development and training in order to carry out the assigned tasks. </div><div>- Direct, monitor and oversee the compilation of inspection information including inspection findings. </div><div>- Prepare and guide quality inspection documentation and reports by analysing and summarizing inspection information and notices of compliance. </div><div>- Other duties as required.</div>
