<div><span style="letter-spacing: 0.4px;"><b><u>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</u></b></span></div><div> Provide legal advice and opinions on all matters required by NIPDEC, its divisions and departments.</div><div><br></div><div> Drafts, vets and certifies contracts, leases, conveyances, bonds, loan documents, securities, bill of sale, mortgages and other legal documents.</div><div><br></div><div> Do research on various aspects of the law.</div><div><br></div><div> Form part of the negotiating teams with external clients on behalf of NIPDEC for contracts.</div><div><br></div><div> Attend the Magistrate and High Court on behalf of NIPDEC.</div><div><br></div><div> Liaise with external Attorneys with respect to the litigation portfolio including the preparation of briefs to external counsel.</div><div><br></div><div> Represent the department at various operational committee meetings appointed by the General Manager.</div><div><br></div><div> Assist with the preparation of monthly departmental reports, annual budgets and strategic business plans.</div><div><br></div><div> Perform any other related duties as necessary</div>

Key Competencies
<b><u>QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:</u></b><div><br></div><div><b>Minimum Requirements:</b></div><div> Bachelor of Laws Degree and possession of a Legal Education Certificate.</div><div><br></div><div> A minimum of three (3) years experience two (2) of which should be in litigation with emphasis in civil litigation, preferably in a corporate environment.</div><div><br></div><div> Any equivalent combination of training and experience.</div><div><br></div><div><span style="letter-spacing: 0.4px;"><b>Special Skills and Knowledge:</b></span></div><div> Considerable knowledge of litigation practices and procedures.</div><div><br></div><div> Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.</div><div><br></div><div> Good analytical, problem solving and information gathering skills</div><div><br></div><div> Good supervisory skills.</div><div><br></div><div> Ability to work effectively as part of a team.</div><div><br></div><div> Highly motivated and able to work with minimum supervision.</div><div><br></div><div> Competence in use of the Microsoft Office software package.</div><div><br></div><div><b style="letter-spacing: 0.4px;">PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:</b></div><div> Standards set in relation to the Departments business plan, strategic objectives and budgets.</div><div><br></div><div> NIPDECs policies and procedures.</div><div><br></div><div> Established professional standards, industry best practice and statutory requirements.&nbsp;</div>
