Job Description
The manager oversees research and curriculum activities to support the advancement of law enforcement education and training of the Police Academy.  The incumbent ensures the development and implementation of policies, frameworks and priorities to strengthen quality assurance, accreditation readiness and digital transformation.  The manager guides the alignment of training and research initiatives with national education standards, workforce needs and strategic objectives of the Academy. 
Key and Critical Responsibilities
<ul><li>Analyses the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service Strategic Plan for the design and development of law enforcement training.</li><li>Examines local, regional, and international trends to identify emerging training needs within law enforcement.&nbsp;</li><li>Manages the conduct of training needs assessments for the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.</li><li>Assists in the development of Trinidad and Tobago Police Service Training Plan.&nbsp;</li><li>Directs the coordination and sequencing of research and curriculum development projects based on their importance, urgency, and relevance to the Police Academy's mandate.</li><li>Reviews all new curricula and recommendations for improvement of the existing curricula.</li><li>Designs and reviews research and curriculum product templates used by the Police Academy.</li><li>Collaborates on the handover of curriculum products for implementation by the Police Academy.</li><li>Supports the processes for internal and external evaluation of assessments.</li><li>Develops policies and procedures for the Unit and assists in general policy development and review at the Academy.</li><li>Promotes a sound academic research culture in the Police Academy.</li><li>Builds and maintains professional relationships with internal and external training partners to ensure quality products for delivery at the Academy.</li><li>Supports the compliance of the Police Academy with its regulatory requirements including Registration and Accreditation with the Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago.</li><li>Responds to inquiries, reports and administrative matter relating to the Unit.</li><li>Directs the integration of digital tools and data management systems to enhance research, curriculum tracking and reporting processes.</li><li>Attends Management Committee and other meetings related to the job function.</li><li>Performing related duties as assigned by the Dean or other competent authority.</li></ul>
