Job Description
<p>The Registrar/Corporate Services is responsible for the supervision and management of all administrative and operational functions relating to training in the Police Academy.&nbsp; The Registrar ensures the integrity, accuracy and security of all academic records of current and former students of the Police Academy; facilitates effective student registration and enrollment; builds secure student data files and sets policy and procedure for their responsible use; maintains up-to-date course catalog, and supervises and maintains the Police Academy's Management Information System.&nbsp; The Registrar advises students, faculty and staff on academic matters; and interprets and enforces policies and regulations of the Police Academy.</p><p>This individual is also responsible for the overall management and coordination of the Police Academy's support services and will ensure that these services are offered to the highest standard ensuring that the organization runs smoothly and efficiently.&nbsp; &nbsp;</p>
Key and Critical Responsibilities
<ul><li>Develops and recommends academic policies and regulations and oversees their compliance.</li><li>Contributes to the overall development of policies, procedures and systems.</li><li>Responsible for the maintenance and administration of the Academy's MIS systems related to students, including the student record system and timetabling / attendance monitoring.&nbsp; This will include data-entry work, as well as producing, presenting and analyzing reports relating to student data.</li><li>Manages and updates the student record system to ensure that records and reports remain up to date and accurate.</li><li>Responsible for the overall development, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's Quality Management System (QMS) through the QMS Committee.</li><li>Responsible for the compilation of training statistics.</li><li>Conducts continuous resource needs assessment for the Police Academy including human, technological, physical and financial resources.</li><li>Supports, develops and implements strategic plans in accordance with the mission and vision statement of the Police Academy and the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.</li><li>Ensures that the work of the Police Academy is informed by the latest thinking in relation to regulation and by all relevant legislation, guidance and best practice.&nbsp;</li><li>Manages the production of degree certificates, transcripts and diploma supplements and provide an efficient and accurate post-graduation certification service.&nbsp;</li><li>Acts as a signatory on awarding documents of the Police Academy.</li><li>Attends professional conferences, meetings and workshops to stay current on Law Enforcement education and training issues and curricula.</li><li>Develops and maintain relationships with all appropriate local, regional and international agencies and organizations.</li><li>Manages the Human Resources function and ensure the Academy's Human Resource systems and practices are compliant with statutory and legislative requirements and in line with the Trinidad and Tobago Service Human Resources Department structures.</li><li>Represents the Academy on committees and attend meetings as required.</li><li>Contributes to the planning and implementation of events held at the Police Academy.</li><li>Contributes to special institutional projects and quality management related activities.</li><li>Responsible for the production of, and updates to the Police Academy's Course and Programme Catalogue.</li><li>Takes on whatever other responsibilities that may arise from time to time as required.</li></ul>
