Job Description
The position requires the incumbent to assist the organization by tracking monitoring and evaluating day-to-day accounting activities. He/she should have a sound knowledge of government legislation and statutory and reporting requirements. 
Key and Critical Responsibilities
<div> Ensuring that the organization meets all statutory requirements in a timely fashion. The incumbent must ensure that all submissions are accurate and presented in the prescribed manner </div><div> Ensuring all policies and procedures that guide the financial operations of the organization are in keeping with approved Accounting Standards and government legislation. Making recommendations to ensure alliance with best practices </div><div> Create and monitor accounting KPIs based on the strategic goals </div><div> Management of the budget/cash flow of the organization and hold monthly meetings with management to discuss the budgetary position and agreed action plans where required </div><div> Timely and accurate delivery of financial reports as prescribed. Highlighting any significant variance, reporting it and recommending corrective action </div><div> Supervising the Accounts department and approving all work produced </div><div> Prepare and submit all financial reports on time </div><div> Preparation of estimates for the organization for the Line Ministry </div><div><br></div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div>
Key Competencies
Must have a working knowledge of modern management skills as well as the demonstrated ability to supervise and manage diverse staff. The incumbent must be able to coach and mentor staff as necessary <div> Must be able to work on different projects concurrently, demonstrating excellent project management skills </div><div> Strong communication skills-oral and written. Must be adept at writing and presenting reports to diverse audiences </div><div> Sound decision-making and analytical skills </div><div> Team player with excellent interpersonal skills </div><div> Must be emotionally intelligent </div><div> Must have a sound knowledge of Finance and Accounting, including statutory requirements and government legislation especially as it relates to state agencies </div><div> Considerable experience in Accounting/Financial procedures of Public Sector/State Agencies. </div><div> Developing long-term business plan based on financial reports. </div><div> Developing strategies that work to minimize financial risk. </div><div> Must be able to prepare reports on cash flow forecasting </div><div> Considerable knowledge of the procurement legislation </div><div><br></div><div> </div>
