<br><div>The Paralegal reports to the Legal Officer will be expected to assist and provide a range of legal and administrative support in the Legal Department including maintaining and organizing files, conducting legal research, and drafting documents.&nbsp;&nbsp;</div>
Key and Critical Responsibilities
<ul><li>Conducts legal research for and on behalf of the Legal Officer relevant to the matters under consideration by the Legal Department. <ul><li> Provides advanced administrative support to coordinate projects, events, department meetings or other initiatives requiring the ability to work independently including maintaining calendars and other timetables for the Attorneys-at-Law. </li><li> Drafts legal documents, including briefs, pleadings, appeals, agreements, contracts and legal memoranda, as directed by and for review of the Attorneys-at-Law. </li><li> Preparation and verification of leases database and review and verification of information/ data in relation to leases to be executed by the Company. </li><li> Creates, transcribes, revises, proofreads and maintains a variety of legal documents under the supervision of the Attorneys-at-Law in the Legal Department. </li><li> Manages attorneys daily schedules. </li><li> Answers telephones, take messages, sorts mail, reviews, and files client correspondence. </li><li> Maintains attorney contact lists and client files.</li></ul></li></ul>
Key Competencies
<ul><li><b><i>Qualifications: Minimum</i></b></li><li> Bachelors of Laws and/or Paralegal full Certification or relevant qualification.</li><li><b><i>Experience: Desired</i></b></li><li> Three (3) years experience in a similar capacity.</li><li><b><i>Behavioural Competencies: Desired</i></b></li><li> The ability to analyze legal documents for accuracy.</li><li> The ability to maintain strict confidentiality with respect to privileged legal information, ongoing litigation and sensitive company affairs.</li><li> Must be detail oriented.</li><li> Strong communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li> Superior organisational skills are required to maintain files, coordinate schedules and track a variety of data.</li><li> Networking ability.</li><li><i><b>Technical Competencies: Desired</b></i></li><li> Thorough knowledge of legal research techniques.</li><li> In depth knowledge of legal terminology and principles.</li><li> Knowledge of drafting and preparation of deeds, affidavits and other legal instruments.</li><li> Can conduct searches on the Property Business Registration System (PBRS) as required.</li><li> Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and Power Point.</li><li> Knowledge of legal documentation processes.</li><li> Familiarity with case management systems, maintaining case files, organizing documents and knowing how to assist in preparing for trials.</li><li> Strong knowledge of transacting documents at government agencies.</li><li><br><div><br></div></li></ul>
