Job Description
The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service Community Sports Officer is responsible for establishing pathways of opportunities for all individuals and communities to achieve their potential, through using physical activity and sport with the aim of promoting crime prevention in Trinidad and Tobago.
Key and Critical Responsibilities
<p><b>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :</b></p><ul><li>Increasing participation in sport and physical activity in all Police Youth Clubs across Trinidad and Tobago.</li><li>Overseeing the overall development and quality delivery of specific community sports activities in all communities.&nbsp;</li><li>Raising public awareness of health and fitness and promoting participation in sports.</li><li>Motivating young persons in schools and youth clubs, through lectures and motivational speeches to steer away from a life of crime.</li><li>Creating links between the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service and clubs, organizations and key agencies in the local sporting arena.</li><li>Identifying sport, recreation and health initiatives and overseeing strategic planning and implementation of same.</li><li>Maintaining records and producing written reports relative to sporting and other activities.</li><li>Checking venues and managing facilities used for sport development activities.</li><li>Offering coaching and supervision in a series of sporting areas where necessary.</li><li>Liaising with the TTPS's Corporate Communications Department to ensure effective coverage of activities through advertisements, press releases and editorials.&nbsp;</li><li>Any other functions you may be called upon from time to time to do related to the position.&nbsp;</li></ul>
