Job Description
The Senior Project Manager reports to the Projects & Quarry Manager and is responsible for supervising Construction Projects at EMBD representing at present the development of Residential Sites to be completed for the Caroni VSEP workers. The Senior Project Manager will also be required to liaise with stakeholders on any issues related to completed Residential Sites, oversee and coordinate all facilities management services for all EMBD offices and must directly assist the Legal Department in respect of all Construction related legal matters.
Key and Critical Responsibilities
<div>-Manages the development of detailed project plans and proposals, identifies all tasks that need to be completed in projects including budgets, resources, milestones, fiscal management; for adhering to all EMBD's, governmental, certification, policies and regulations, and for reporting any financial conflicts of interest and irregularities. </div><div>-Oversees the preparation of pre-Tender documentation for the award of consultancy, construction and development contracts and agreements. </div><div>-Develops construction methods and procedures. </div><div>-Manages project schedule, including changes to project scope, quality, costs, schedule and ensures all changes are documented and approved. </div><div>-Monitors timely completion of the project and milestones, establishes work plans and staffing of the projects team. </div><div>-Manages and monitors project budget and applies for release of funds as required, authorizes project expenditure in line with budget plan. </div><div>-Liaises with all parties involved in projects including local authorities, consultants, clients, sub-contractors and suppliers. </div><div>-Provide expert advice to the Legal Department on all matters as it pertains to the company's projects. </div><div>-Conducts site meetings and inspections. </div><div>-Reports regularly on project progress and monitors schedules to Management and stakeholders. </div><div>-Resolves project road blocks by proactively managing issues and risks related to projects. </div><div>-Produces monthly reports on assigned projects, reports risks and issues, significant delays and recommends and implement solutions. </div><div>-Prepares and monitors work schedules and project costings. </div><div>-Reviews work performed by sub-contractors and makes recommendations for payment. </div><div>-Assumes responsibility for procurement, and coordinates with all parties involved to ensure work progresses smoothly and is completed on time and within budget. </div><div>-Performs such tasks as may be required for the smooth operation of the department and organisation. </div><div><br></div><div><b><u>INDIVIDUAL SAFETY RESPONSIBILITY: </u></b></div><div>It is the responsibility of each employee to protect oneself as well as fellow employees from injury. Key Competencies
<b><u>Qualifications: Minimum </u></b><div>&nbsp;- Bachelors Degree in Engineering. </div><div>&nbsp;- Training and/or professional qualifications in Construction, Project or Facilities Management or any extractive industries and training in International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC).</div><div><br></div><div><b><u>Experience: Desired </u></b></div><div>- Five (5) to eight (8) years experience in Construction, Project Management, Engineering, Facilities Management. </div><div>&nbsp;- Experience in directing a multi-disciplinary team and assisting in managing medium/large scale Construction Projects will be an asset. </div><div>&nbsp;- Experience in Public Sector/State Enterprise will be considered an asset. </div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><b><u>Behavioural Competencies: Desired </u></b></div><div>&nbsp;- Effective report writing skills. </div><div>&nbsp;- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. </div><div>&nbsp;- Ability to work independently. </div><div>&nbsp;- Ability to lead a team of professionals. </div><div>&nbsp;- Sound communication and negotiation skills.</div><div><br></div><div><b><u>Technical Competencies: Desired </u></b></div><div>&nbsp;- Knowledge of FIDIC. </div><div>&nbsp;- Expert knowledge of MS Project. </div><div>&nbsp;- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.</div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div>
