Job Description
The General Manager, Finance, directs and leads the Finance team to achieve the Divisions Operational Plan objectives and targets in support of the overall goals of TTPost. The GM also monitors and updates key personnel on the performance and viability of the Corporation in accordance with good corporate governance practices and ensures that the Corporation's assets are not exposed to undue risk.
Key and Critical Responsibilities
Monitors the performance of the Corporation against the Operational Plan, ensuring that progress against standards/targets and/or deviations from the plan and other strategic trends are reported to Senior Management, the Managing Director and the Board in a timely manner<div><br></div><div>Provides the Senior Management Team and the Board with pertinent, concise and timely information, to enable the effective commercial management of the Corporation</div><div><br></div><div>Oversees the production of the Corporations Operational Plan including budget, in accordance with the Postal Corporation Act 1999</div><div><br></div><div>Participates and actively contributes to the leadership and strategic direction of TTPost as a member of the Senior Management Team</div><div><br></div><div>Assists the Managing Director in seeking out new business ventures in accordance with agreed growth strategy</div><div><br></div><div>Directs, leads, and manages the TTPost Finance Team in execution and achievement of the Divisions operational goals, objectives and targets outlined in the Operational Plan</div><div><br></div><div>Ensures the funding, working capital management, debt control, capital investment decisions and Treasury functions are effectively and efficiently carried out</div><div><br></div><div>Ensures that practical and effective financial and accounting policies and procedures are in place in order to mitigate risk and safeguard the Corporations assets and financial resources</div><div><br></div><div>Ensures the provision of an effective and efficient procurement process, and that the most appropriate vendors, suppliers and contractors are used based on procurement best practice including performance and value</div><div><br></div><div>Develops and maintains management information systems &amp; IT infrastructure throughout the Corporation to support business processes, management reporting and decision making and specifically to install an up-to-date computerized financial management system</div><div><br></div><div>Has oversight of the Information Technology department at a strategic level.</div><div><br></div><div>Maintains Finance expenditure within budget, and continuously reviews the Divisions operations to optimize costs&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>Implements policies &amp; procedures to prevent revenue leakages</div><div><br></div><div>Ensures that HR policies and practices, and in particular good industrial relations practices, compliant with the collective bargaining process are followed.</div><div><br></div><div>Ensures that the Finance Division is properly resourced to achieve its strategic and operational goals and that the requisite employee performance review, training, development and succession plans are aligned</div><div><br></div><div>Communicates TTPosts vision, goals and targets to Finance employees, ensuring that Managers operationalize plans into practical performance metrics by department and/or at the individual level</div><div><br></div><div>Supervises assigned workforce, monitoring, appraising, motivating and disciplining as required</div><div><br></div><div>Monitors and ensures adherence to health, safety and environmental rules, regulations and guidelines</div><div><br></div><div>Performs other related duties that may be required by the job function</div><div><br></div>
