Job Description
Responsible for providing reliable transportation and messenger services to support the daily operations of the Institute. Duties will include the transportation designated personnel, materials, and documents safely and efficiently, while ensuring the proper maintenance and cleanliness of the assigned vehicle. Duties include collecting, sorting, and delivering mail, packages, and other documents and materials; and maintaining accurate records of mileage, fuel usage, and vehicle performance. Performs basic vehicle checks, minor repairs, and reports on any mechanical issues requiring attention. The role requires a strong sense of responsibility, punctuality, adherence to safety and confidentiality standards.
Key and Critical Responsibilities
<p> </p><p>Operates a vehicle to transport persons and/or materials as directed.</p><p>Collects, sorts and distributes incoming and outgoing mail, cables, telegrams, stationery, packages and other materials and makes appropriate entri<span style="letter-spacing: 0.4px;">es in register when required.</span></p><p><span style="letter-spacing: 0.4px;"> Cleans vehicles, checks on oil, gasoline, water and tyres, makes minor operating repairs, changes tyres and reports need for major repairs.</span></p><p><span style="letter-spacing: 0.4px;"> Maintains record of vehicle mileage, gasoline and oil usage, and any unusual performance of the vehicle.</span></p><p><span style="letter-spacing: 0.4px;"> Performs related work as required.</span></p><p><span style="letter-spacing: 0.4px;"><br></span></p>
Key Competencies
Knowledge of the basic principles of automotive operations sufficient to detect defects in operation.<div> Skill in the safe operation of an automobile.</div><div> Ability to understand simple oral and written instructions.</div><div> Ability to perform basic clerical tasks.</div><div> Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.</div><div> The possession of a valid Trinidad and Tobago Driving Permit.</div><div> At least 5 years' experience in the operation of a motor vehicle.</div><div> Primary School Leaving Certificate or its equivalent.</div><div><br></div>
