Job Description
<p><b>ONE (1) YEAR CONTRACT&nbsp;</b></p><p>The Assistant Accounting Officer will provide support in the Finance and Accounting Unit in a range of general clerical, accounting and book-keeping support functions for the organization, utilizing where required, the accounting package in use by the organization.</p>
Key and Critical Responsibilities
<p>Check all cheque list copies against vouchers, cheques and cheques list figures.</p><p></p><div>Check for correct head figures, spelling, vouchers numbers, total of figures and cheques numbers.</div><div><br></div><div>Check appropriate signature on schedules, purchase orders and department vouchers along with administrators stamp where needed.</div><div><br></div><div>Process Goods &amp; Services and Development vouchers and verify authority given for vouchers.</div><div><br></div><div>Issuance of cheques to typist along with relevant vouchers and pay sheets.</div><div><br></div><div>Update and maintain Divisions Cash Book</div><div><br></div><div>Process monthly salaries and fortnightly paid wages.</div><div><br></div><div>Approve Automatic Clearing House System via e-first corporate banking service.</div><div><br></div><div>Performed other related duties as required.</div><div><br></div><div><b>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES</b></div><div>Knowledge of government accounting and financial procedures.</div><div>Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.</div><div>Ability to operate office equipment such as a computer, printer, photocopier and scanner.</div><div>Good communication skills, both written and oral.</div><p></p>
Key Competencies
A certificate Accounting, Financial Management or related field.<div>Two (2) to three (3) years in a related field.</div><div>Familiarity with accounting tools and software.</div>
